Monday Morning You Look So Fine: Van Coke Kartel.

Very busy... film projects and the like. Been down "Nostalgia Lane" with old Fokofpolisiekar material; this while listening to Francois Van Coke come into his own as a lyricist on his band's new album, Waaksaam en Wakker. Like the moments above, there are some things difficult to understand from the outside... more and more explanation is required, allowing more and more room for misunderstanding. So it goes.

End of the day, Francois is being astonishingly honest, providing the soundtrack for HIS life, regardless of those who seem to think his role is to provide the soundtrack for theirs.

I love you, man.

"Daar was ‘n tyd toe musiek nog vir ons heilig was,
Toe die dwelms nog besonders was,
En toe jou vriende nog verstaanbaar was..." - Van Coke Kartel

Monday Morning You Look So Fine: Oasis.

New project is up and rolling. Started shooting Friday (right on cue with the weather) into Saturday. This after a wee break and all following the exhibition opening and some rest... see A Claude Glass blog for more...

At the moment, the new Oasis is keeping me going:

"I said I'm tired
Come get me off the merry-go-round

I'm wired

Come feed me and then bring-a-me down."
- Oasis

That, and The Norm, of course.

Later.
