Monday Morning You Look So Fine: Oppikoppi.

Sorry it has been so long... there has been a lot on my plate lately, from Levi's commercial shoots, to long-term personal projects, to Not In Our Lifetime work and Oppikoppi... the list goes on, but Oppikoppi probably tops it, as it connects to a number of things.

First off, I have been brought out of a self-imposed "music journo" retirement by an old friend, Annel Malan, who has convinced to blog (or blag) my musical experiences (such as they are) over at Speakerbox. So far I have a rusty Oppi piece up, an Oppi gallery, and a sycophanitc review of the latest 340ml album. Buy it... it's choice.

Secondly, I have been in preparation for my new exhibition at the Rooke Gallery, opening October 9 (the last work to make the selection just happened to be shot at Koppi.) There's an introductory article coming up on it (or at least, the methodology behind it) in One Small Seed, as well as a dedicated blog and a possible surprise on MK that relates to the work to be shown in it... you'll have to wait and see, but click here to sign up for the gallery's mailing list if you want to stay informed... God knows this may not be the place for regular updates. (If I was so inclined, here's where I would insert a smilie...)

It's Benguela playing now, by the way, all the way from Oppikoppi '98... they are an instrumental band, in case you were wondering why there are no lyrics.

Oh, and that's Albert Frost at the top of the page, opening Koppi... for those who were wondering, as to who is better between Dan Patlanksy or Albert Frost... Dan may be seriously able to play the blues... but it's the blues that play Albert.

s'True.

Later.
